"The scheme will be called 'Payment of ex-gratia grant to students from Ex-Gratia Fund'. The scheme will be applicable to all the girls' and boys' students of Shishu Vatika to Class XII of Government, Government Aided Schools & Schools under the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVs) & Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalaya (OMAVs) functioning under the School & Mass Education Department."

The notification specifies that ex-gratia is payable for road accidents while travelling to and from school, accidents within school buildings, food poisoning from mid-day meals (PM POSHAN), or accidents occurring during any school-related activity.

Who is eligible

All enrolled boys and girls from Shishu Vatika up to Class XII in Government schools, Government-aided schools, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAVs), and Odisha Mining Adarsha Vidyalayas (OMAVs) are covered.

  3. Gather Enclosures in Triplicate: Submit three copies of all hospital discharge summaries, medical certificates, and the police FIR (mandatory for road accidents and fatal incidents).
  4. School Submission: The Headmaster signs with seal and transmits the proposal and enquiry report to the District Education Officer (DEO) through the Block Education Officer (BEO).
  5. Collector Sanction: The Collector examines the DEO's inquiry and recommendations, verifies the next of kin, and issues the formal financial sanction order.
